Hailing from Forbes in the Central West of New South Wales, Dave was schooled at St Joseph's of Hunters Hill before being admitted as a Solicitor in 1981.

Dave is well-known and respected litigation practitioner in Port Macquarie, having practised in the region since the early 1980s and was a partner of Searson Shannon & Co with George Searson from 1995 until the merger with Moin Morris Schaefer in 2020.

Now consulting with Moin Morris Schaefer, Dave is able to spend more time with his two sons and friends.
